Tucson Parks and Recreation are offering badminton lessons for next year, for all skill levels in a group environment. It is a good way to practice some drills and get a few tips.
The format follows this style; 1 hour of drills and the last hour is used to play some matches to practice what has been taught. For people who can’t make it to play in the open play morning times during the week, this could be a good way to play some badminton after work during the week and meet some likeminded people.
The times, location and dates of the classes available can be seen in the image below. Click on this link to enroll or call this number: 520 573-EZEE (3933)

For those who usually play badminton at the Morris K. Udall Recreation Center on saturdays, please be aware that the Tucson Badminton Club [TBC] will be hosting a light hearted fun event on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 10am-12pm.
If you are a member of the Tucson Badminton Club, you will be able to participate for free, if you are not a member, the cost for the event will be $5 but this also includes a years membership into the Tucson Badminton Club.
There will be events to challenge the
most seasoned player as the event levels the playing field for all. You will be asked to play with your non dominant hand, with an eye patch on (this makes your depth perception much harder to gauge), playing with a covered net so you can’t see most of your opponent and even playing doubles being tethered to your partner!
After the games finish at 12pm, there will be a picnic in the Udall Park ramadas (numbers 8 and 9) where there will be hot dogs, sausages and burgers. To eat at the picnic, either bring $5 with you on the day, or bring a dish to share. The TBC also has a permit so it’s ok to bring your own alcoholic beverages.
update: IF YOU CAN BRING A COOLER WITH ICE, THEN YOU DON’T HAVE TO BRING ANY FOOD!
For more information, please send an email to the TBC president, Richard: bdmntncluboftucson(a)gmail.com (replace the “(a)” with “@” for emails)
